Swim Instructor - Ipswich YMCA
About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring Swim Instructors for the Ipswich Family YMCA in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Instructors teach children and adults of various ages and abilities, leading engaging group and private lessons using the YMCA Swim Curriculum. They promote water safety, help swimmers build confidence and skills, and create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment. Previous swim instruction experience is not required. Qualified candidates receive paid curriculum training, hands-on experience through shadowing and mentorship, and ongoing coaching and professional development. This is a part-time position with varied shifts and an hourly pay range of $20.00–$26.00.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Positive attitude, love of the water, and desire to make a difference.
Nice To Haves
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding/Swim Instruction, Pro CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen are preferred; candidates may be willing to obtain them.
- Previous swim instruction experience is not required.
