Swim Instructor - Haverhill YMCA
About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring Swim Instructors for the Haverhill YMCA in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Instructors teach children and adults of varied ages and abilities, leading engaging group and private lessons using the YMCA Swim Curriculum. They promote water safety, help swimmers gain confidence and develop lifelong swimming skills, and create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment. Instructors celebrate progress and support each swimmer in reaching their goals. Previous swim instruction experience is not required. Qualified candidates receive paid training on the YMCA of the USA Swim Curriculum, hands-on shadowing and mentorship from experienced instructors, ongoing coaching, and professional development. The role is part-time with varied shifts.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Positive attitude, love of the water, and desire to make a difference.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding/Swim Instruction, Pro CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen are preferred, or candidates must be willing to obtain them.
