About The Position

The Lifeguard is responsible for overseeing the safety of all swimmers and people in the aquatic area at the Lake Community YMCA. The role requires being rescue-ready throughout the shift and attending mandatory in-service trainings. The YMCA is seeking qualified lifeguards, though applicants who are not certified may be willing to receive training. Available hours include mornings from 5:30–9:00 a.m., evenings from 5:00–8:45 p.m., and weekends. Starting wage is $12.00, commensurate with experience. Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of age.
• Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• Current BLS (CPR) and First Aid.
• If not certified, willingness to be trained.
