About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals age 18 or older to serve as lifeguards at the West Philadelphia YMCA. Lifeguards ensure the safety and surveillance of pool participants, apply organizational safety procedures in pool and aquatic areas, and help keep the pool deck clean and organized. Candidates should have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or be able to pass the course, strong swimming skills, and a passion for water safety. Weekend availability is required. Requirements
- Age 18 or older.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course.
- Passion for water safety and strong swimming skills.
- Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants.
- Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing.
