About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Swim Lesson Instructor for its West Philadelphia YMCA. Instructors teach children to swim and help participants develop swimming skills in a safe, enjoyable aquatics environment. The role offers opportunities to build communication, leadership, and responsibility skills, along with team support and opportunities to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Must be age 15 or older.
- Experience with children and passion for teaching children to swim.
- Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification.
- Ability to complete and pass an in-water skills assessment.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim.
- Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience.
- Evaluate swimming skills, complete progress reports for each session, and communicate with parents.
- Work as part of the aquatics staff team to provide a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
