LIV Beach Lifeguards – 2027 Summer Season
About The Position
Fontainebleau Las Vegas is seeking a vigilant and skilled lifeguard for the 2027 summer season at LIV Beach. The lifeguard ensures patron safety by monitoring swimming areas, identifying hazards, enforcing rules, providing water-safety guidance, and responding to emergencies. The role includes performing rescues and administering first aid, contacting emergency medical services when needed, maintaining lifeguard equipment, participating in training and drills, and assisting patrons with questions about facility services. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties may be added or modified as necessary.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized training program.
- CPR/AED, FAID, and LIFE certifications.
- Strong swimming skills and endurance.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform rescues and other emergency procedures.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, somewhat stressful environment with high call volume.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English, including interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral, or diagram-form instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of the swimming area to ensure patron safety.
- Identify and address potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations.
- Provide patrons with guidance and education on water safety.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Perform rescues and administer first aid as needed.
- Contact emergency medical services and assist until they arrive.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patrons, colleagues, and management.
- Provide clear instructions during emergencies.
- Regularly inspect and maintain lifeguard equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and drills.
- Keep lifeguarding techniques and first aid and CPR/AED certifications current.
- Interact with patrons in a friendly and approachable manner.
- Assist patrons with inquiries and provide information about facility services.
