About The Position

Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As a Program Specialist, you will be responsible for managing projects focusing on developing and maintaining optimal processes for the aftermarket parts portfolio managed solutions that support actions within the Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inventory, Compliance, and Dealer Collaboration processes and rules, as well as facility supply chain goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and knowledge of project management methodologies / tools and lean process improvements.
  • Previous experience reviewing and analyzing business data and providing resolutions.
  • Thorough understanding of aftermarket part policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of part supply systems / technology solutions.
  • Previous experience in Compliance, Inventory, Dealer Support, or Supply Chain
  • Cross-functional project experience working with all levels of the Enterprise
  • Working knowledge of power apps, automation techniques, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects identifying, defining, and implementing integrated solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
  • Leverage project execution methodologies (charter, fishbone, 5-why, etc.) to ensure proper alignment on scope and deliverables delivered on-time and to stakeholder expectations.
  • Investigate and incorporate benchmarks, automation, best practices, and metrics to develop optimal processes for aftermarket solutions.
  • Analyze data / processes to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective solutions.
  • Supporting PLS leadership as needed for senior and executive leader reporting.
