About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) provides direct nursing care to clients according to physicians’ orders and applicable client care standards, within their scope of practice. The nurse also directs non-licensed personnel in providing direct client care and operating the unit. The role is based at Crestwood’s Crisis Stabilization Unit, a recovery-focused program where children, adolescents, and adults in crisis are welcomed into a calm, warm, compassionate environment. The program provides assessment, mental health stabilization services, medication evaluation and management, and linkages to a wide range of outpatient and inpatient mental health services. The schedule is full-time: PM shifts Friday through Sunday and an AM shift Monday. Crestwood offers education and training to support employees’ success and career growth. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background investigation, including criminal history and identity checks.

Requirements

Current California licensure as an LVN or LPT.
Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
Ability to supervise.
Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members.
Current CPR and first aid certifications.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in mental health nursing is preferred.
