About The Position

This is a temporary assignment for a Licensed Practical Nurse in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Gallup, NM. The contract duration is 10 weeks, starting on 09/01/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring resident health, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Mexico and in good standing
CPR/BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of licensed practical nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
Ability to work night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) in a skilled nursing environment
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
Ability to pass background and health screenings as part of the credentialing process

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders; document administration and monitor for adverse reactions.
Monitor residents’ health status, assess changes, and report to the supervising RN promptly.
Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, and comfort measures; support mobility and positioning to prevent complications.
Perform routine nursing tasks within scope, including vital signs, wound care, and documentation of care plans and progress notes.
Support nutrition and hydration needs; observe intake and document concerns or changes.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and communicate with residents’ families as appropriate.
