About The Position

Management & Training Corporation is hiring an on-call Licensed Practical Nurse at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. The role supports inmate healthcare in a secure correctional environment, helping patients receive treatment as part of their path toward a healthy, productive life. Pay is $33.99 per hour. Work is on an as-needed basis across two shifts: 6 a.m.–6 p.m. and 6 p.m.–6 a.m.

Requirements

• Degree in nursing.
• Current, valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
• Attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
• Successfully complete all annual in-service requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN on duty and according to approved standing orders, assess inmates reporting to sick call and prescribe treatment.
• Assist with provider line and prepare the examination room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
• Push or wheel the pill cart across the facility campus.
• Control medications, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment as required.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call a physician for treatment orders.
• Keep equipment and the work area clean using appropriate sanitation methods.
• Practice basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of medical records and follow applicable HIPAA rules.
