About The Position
The staff Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of the Nurse Director or designee, is responsible for nursing care of assigned patients and for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care administered by staff. The goal is to assist patients in moving through their hospitalization as rapidly, uneventfully, and safely as possible. This is a 32-hour-per-week position in the Maternity/OB department at Milford Regional. The schedule is 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with every other weekend and every other holiday. The role is non-exempt.
Requirements
- Graduate from and receive training at an accredited school of nursing.
- Hold a current Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (B.O.R.N.) license.
- Have American Heart Association or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers upon hire or during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of general medical-surgical experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to assess patients and plan care.

- Function effectively in urgent and emergent situations.
- Delegate effectively.
- Coordinate the exchange of information among staff, physicians, and administration.
- Manage changing unit flow and patient acuity.
