About The Position

The staff Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of the Nurse Director or designee, provides nursing care to assigned patients and prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care administered by staff. The role aims to help patients move through hospitalization as rapidly, uneventfully, and safely as possible. This position is in Maternity/OB at Milford Regional and is scheduled for 32 hours per week on the night shift, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.

Requirements

• Graduate from and receive training at an accredited school of nursing.
• Hold a current license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• Have American Heart Association or equivalent Basic Life Support certification for health care providers upon hire or during orientation.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of general medical-surgical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to assess patients and plan care.
• Perform nursing tasks effectively in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Function effectively in urgent and emergent situations.
• Delegate effectively.
• Coordinate the exchange of information among staff, physicians, and administration.
• Manage changing patient flow and acuity on the unit.
• Provide nursing care to assigned patients and prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care administered by staff.
