About The Position
Responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The role provides care from admission through discharge appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population, and includes assessment, care planning, coordination, supervision, and delegation within the assigned clinical setting. This position is scheduled for 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, from 1900 to 0700, with every third weekend and every other holiday.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or by the first scheduled course offering, whichever is sooner; required in select areas including ICU.
- Thorough knowledge of the nursing discipline.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedure.
- Develop and coordinate individual plans of care, including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
- Delegate appropriately in accordance with job descriptions and competency levels.
