About The Position

This is an eight-week travel assignment for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Hanford, California, to work in a short-term acute care setting. The role involves providing direct nursing care, performing assessments, implementing care plans, administering medications, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires adherence to aseptic technique and safety practices, with prompt and professional response to patient needs. Experience with EPIC and Cerner is preferred.

Requirements

Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in California.
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in a relevant setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to work in a fast-paced short-term acute care environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Arrhythmia certification preferred.
EPIC and Cerner experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN or MD, following established policy and the nursing process.
Perform admission assessments and ongoing re-assessments per departmental policy; contribute to interdisciplinary care planning.
Implement and coordinate the plan of care, using organizational skills and reporting mechanisms; participate in patient teaching and discharge planning.
Conduct selected clinical procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, injections, drug screens) and administer medications as directed.
Order/restock supplies within established par levels; maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas (pre-op, PACU, corridors, and related spaces).
Document care and activities; support clinical operations with accurate reporting.
Uphold aseptic technique and safety practices; respond to patient needs promptly and professionally.
