About The Position
Merakey is seeking a full-time School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a school in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The role provides high-quality, compassionate health care to students in a school setting and works under the direct supervision of the School Program Director. The School Nurse helps foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel safe and supported, and ensures that health-related policies and procedures are implemented effectively and safely. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation is up to $25 per hour.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Texas.
- One year of nursing experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with students with an autism diagnosis is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols.
- Ensure proper storage and documentation of medications and medical supplies, and maintain their safety.
- Follow standard precautions and infection-control guidelines.
- Manage incidents and critical events through timely reporting and appropriate follow-up.
- Respond promptly and sensitively to students’ health needs, providing calm, compassionate care in routine and urgent situations.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external healthcare providers to support each child’s physical and emotional well-being.
- Implement health-related policies and procedures effectively and safely.
