LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse - Adult Urology, Downtown Orlando
About The Position
Orlando Health Medical Group is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for its adult urology practice in downtown Orlando. The LPN provides and documents individualized patient care, including patient evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments, and patient safety, as directed by an RN or provider. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at 32 W Gore St, Orlando, Florida. The practice is part of Orlando Health Medical Group, a physician group with more than 200 practices, 1,200 physicians, and representation across more than 55 specialties. Orlando Health’s broader system includes hospitals, emergency rooms, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, primary care practices, and outpatient facilities.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Florida or a compact multistate license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider certification.
Nice To Haves
- IV Therapy Certification.
- One year of LPN experience; ambulatory care or urology clinic experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient needs and assist providers and RNs in implementing individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed clinical treatments in accordance with nursing standards and physician orders.
- Perform routine clinical procedures, take vital signs, conduct patient intake, and perform diagnostic testing specific to outpatient urology care.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, post-procedure instructions, and medication schedules.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary clinical inventory and supplies.
- Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws.
