About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Long Term Care located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The contract duration is 9 weeks, starting on 09/01/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care in a nursing home setting, administering medications and treatments, monitoring resident conditions, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The position requires the ability to work night shifts and potentially participate in on-call coverage.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Ability to work the night shift (3x12-hour nights) and participate in on-call coverage if required
- Strong clinical assessment, observation, and documentation skills
- Effective communication with residents, families, and the health care team
- Ability to adhere to infection control and safety protocols and work collaboratively in a team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in or knowledge of long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Monitor resident status, document vital signs, changes in condition, and respond to emergencies per facility policy
- Provide skilled nursing care, including wound care, injections, and routine procedures within scope
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility while promoting safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate, compliant charting and documentation; communicate changes to the RN and interdisciplinary team
- Support care planning and participate in care conferences to optimize resident outcomes
