About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing legendary service and high-quality, carefully crafted eyewear that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

The position welcomes customers, sets expectations, custom-fits glasses, places prescriptions in lenses, and uses optical knowledge and technology to ensure eyewear is accurately measured, adjusted, and finished to company standards and customer needs. The optician also supports the team with complex products and prescriptions, resolves customer issues, contributes to store presentation and safety, and follows company procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical acumen.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and high customer volume, demonstrate product knowledge, and use appropriate tools.
• Explore root causes of issues and work proactively to resolve them and exceed customer expectations.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time amid competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve Brand KPIs and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
