About The Position
The Licensed Optician delivers LensCrafters’ brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers through exceptional service and high-quality, carefully crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The optician welcomes customers, takes and records measurements, custom-fits glasses, accurately places prescriptions in lenses, and ensures finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs. The position also supports complex product and prescription needs, uses technology and appropriate tools accurately, and contributes to store presentation, safety, inventory practices, and company policy compliance.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team-building.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
- Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and set expectations.
- Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrating product knowledge and using appropriate tools.
- Explore root causes of issues, anticipate needs, and resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage time amid competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Pursue continual learning and improvement and contribute to results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
