About The Position

The Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager oversees daily store operations, supports and motivates the team, and helps ensure customers receive quality eye care and an exceptional shopping experience. The role is responsible for achieving sales, profit, and performance goals; maintaining customer service and same-day service standards; communicating with store and corporate leadership; and supporting staffing, recruiting, and associate development. The position also coordinates with doctors associated with the store and helps ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are implemented.

Requirements

Optical sales experience.
Maintain an optical license in states that require licensure.
Proficient computer skills.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to present clear and concise information and respond to questions from managers, associates, and customers.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
ABO and NCLE certified.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals according to NVI standards.
Monitor sales results against budget.
Ensure store associates provide the highest level of customer service.
Maintain awareness of same-day service using the “Ready When Promised” production board.
Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office, and provide store reporting as required.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the doctors associated with the store and serve as a liaison between doctors and store personnel.
Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and that associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensure timely completion of day-to-day functions.
Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume and with recruiting, selecting, and retaining staff.
Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
