About The Position

The Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager oversees the eyeglass department and helps manage daily store operations, personnel, and inventory. The role supports a positive customer experience and helps associates succeed while driving the store’s profit, sales, and performance goals in accordance with National Vision standards. The position works with the General Manager on staffing and leads, coaches, and motivates associates to meet sales and customer service goals. America's Best stores are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

Maintain an optical license as required by the state.
Optical sales experience.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
ABO and NCLE certified.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive, monitor, and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
Monitor retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.
Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to support efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Identify opportunities for improvement and create action plans.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it.
Ensure quality standards are met.
Ensure merchandising, marketing execution, pricing promotions, and initiatives comply with Brand and Company standards.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates, and in some stores the Receptionist, while ensuring timely completion of daily functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining staff.
Lead and coach associates toward sales and customer service goals.
Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
