About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team and help customers with their eyewear needs. The role involves becoming knowledgeable about the brand and its products, providing excellent service to both returning customers and first-time wearers, and helping customers feel confident about their eyewear. The Optician will collaborate with a motivated team and can access career-advancing resources and benefits.

Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in states that do not require licensing.
• Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an accessible way.
• Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded, eager to learn, and willing to challenge existing knowledge.
• Not be on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and complete these tasks accurately.
• Verify finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
• Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
