About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role focuses on helping customers meet their eyewear needs through accurate measurements, fitting and adjustments, checking finished eyewear, explaining prescriptions and products, and helping customers select frames and lenses. The Optician will deliver exceptional customer service, collaborate with teammates on effective sales and service practices, and represent Warby Parker’s brand, values, and mission. Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
• Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in accessible language.
• Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be detail-oriented and able to handle a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded and committed to continuous learning.
• Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices for use throughout the organization.
• Represent Warby Parker and educate others about its values and mission.
