About The Position
The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as a premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, carefully crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The optician welcomes customers, fits and adjusts eyewear, takes measurements, places prescriptions in lenses, and helps ensure finished eyewear meets quality standards and customer needs. The role also supports complex product and prescription needs, maintains product knowledge, uses store technology and tools, and contributes to store results, safety, appearance, and inventory practices.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
- Ability to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
- Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Demonstrate leadership in optical knowledge and assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Take and record measurements and accurately adjust and fit eyewear, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Use technology accurately under time pressure and high customer volume, applying product knowledge and appropriate tools.
- Identify root causes of issues, find solutions, and work to exceed customer expectations.
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage competing priorities.
- Work toward exceptional results on brand key performance indicators and competencies.
- Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Pursue continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
