Licensed Nursing Assistant II - Maternity - Full Time - Days
About The Position
The Licensed Nursing Assistant II (LNA II) is an integral member of the care delivery team on Elliot Hospital’s Maternity unit. Under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and direct supervision of the RN, the LNA II provides direct and indirect patient care through clinical tasks within the scope of LNA practice, along with personal care and emotional support. Elliot Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Services address the health and wellness needs of women and children. The Maternity unit has 24–26 beds and averages 14 mother/baby patients, supported by 55 employees. Patients include high- and low-risk postpartum mothers and babies at 35 weeks’ gestation and above, substance-exposed infants, newborns receiving management for hyperbilirubinemia or hypoglycemia, and patients recovering from gynecological surgery. This is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for 30 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current New Hampshire licensure as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA).
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during the orientation period and maintain it during employment.
Nice To Haves
- LNA experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Report observations, symptoms, deviations from normal, and changes in a patient’s condition to the RN.
- Provide basic support to patients and families.
- Document in selected areas of the medical record as appropriate.
