About The Position

Sam Leman Automotive Group is seeking an experienced License & Title Clerk to join its Bloomington, Illinois accounting office. This role handles vehicle title, registration, tax payment, and dealership documentation for new and used vehicle sales, dealer trades, and out-of-state transactions. The clerk also stocks vehicles into inventory systems, reconciles statements and accounting entries, resolves title and registration issues, and helps ensure compliance with Illinois titling regulations and dealership requirements. The position may also assist with additional accounting responsibilities and special projects. At least two years of automotive dealership title experience is required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of automotive dealership license and title experience.
Strong knowledge of Illinois title and registration procedures.
Previous dealership accounting office experience.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Strong communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented attitude.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with CDK, CVR, ATC, or Dealertrack.
Experience with McDavid products and Illinois dealership compliance.

Responsibilities

Process vehicle titles, registrations, tax payments, and title assignments.
Handle paperwork for new and used vehicle sales, dealer trades, and out-of-state transactions.
Stock vehicles into dealership inventory systems.
Reconcile statements, accounting entries, and related documentation.
Research and resolve title discrepancies and registration issues.
Ensure compliance with Illinois titling regulations and dealership requirements.
Communicate with customers, lenders, and state agencies as needed.
Assist with additional accounting responsibilities and special projects.
