About The Position

The Multifamily Housing Practice Group represents lenders active in the multifamily housing industry, closing loans secured by multifamily projects and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. The Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) provides high level support to multiple attorneys in the Multifamily Housing Practice Group, including the revision of complex loan documents to complete loan transactions following detailed and precise instructions from the attorneys and appropriate lenders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-quality service and partner effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the firm as well as external contacts.
  • Ability to self-manage and work reliably and independently in a hybrid, and in-office setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of clerical procedures and systems, such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire familiarity with, the roles and function of the assigned department, and any specifically applicable laws or guidelines.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and good discretion.
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a deadline driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple assignments in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft complex loan documents and prepare required signature pages in accordance with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and client requirements.
  • Prepare black line document comparisons to identify revisions.
  • Complete revisions to loan documents following detailed and precise instructions provided by the attorneys and appropriate lenders.
  • Assist with maintaining Multifamily Housing attorney deal tracking spreadsheets.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling matters for clients and other attorney information.
  • Identify and respond to internal and external client inquiries in a timely manner and seek feedback/follow-up as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Assist in fostering an environment of superior customer service by working collaboratively with attorneys and staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with resources inside and outside the firm as appropriate to complete projects or tasks.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of department objectives, key activities and requirements in order to anticipate and proactively address the needs of the team.
  • Take appropriate action to monitor and meet deadlines.
