Legal & Innovation Analyst
About The Position
Uniphore is hiring a Legal & Innovation Analyst to support its legal and finance functions. Intended for a recent college graduate, the role provides hands-on exposure to intellectual property and general legal work, while offering the opportunity to build AI-powered workflows that improve how the legal and finance teams operate. The position is based in Palo Alto, California, and reports to the Director, Patents & Innovation Strategy. The analyst will conduct patent and prior-art research, summarize findings for attorneys, monitor filing deadlines and competitor patent activity, and assist with invention disclosures and claim charts under attorney supervision. The role also provides general legal and administrative support, including organizing contracts and legal records and assisting with compliance documentation and special projects. A core part of the position is building and refining AI-assisted workflows across legal and finance processes. The analyst will create and test prompts and templates for recurring tasks, document workflows for team use, and work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce manual work. The schedule is in-office three days per week. Compensation is listed as $39.43 per hour, with a hiring pay range of $81,700–$102,100, plus an annual incentive opportunity and benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree completed in any field.
- Interest in legal, intellectual property, or finance operations.
- Comfort using AI tools and interest in building workflows, not just using AI tools on an ad hoc basis.
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach, with attention to deadlines and accuracy.
- No prior legal or finance experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Conduct prior art and patent landscape searches using USPTO Patent Public Search, Google Patents, and Espacenet.
- Summarize technical and legal research findings in clear memos for attorneys.
- Track filing deadlines, office action responses, and maintenance fee dates.
- Assist with invention disclosure summaries and claim charts under attorney supervision.
- Monitor competitor patent filings and flag relevant developments.
- Help review and organize contracts and legal records.
- Support compliance initiatives and policy documentation.
- Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
- Build and refine AI-assisted workflows across legal and finance business processes.
- Create and test prompts and templates for recurring tasks such as document summarization, data triage, and report generation.
- Document workflows so they can be repeated by the rest of the team.
- Partner with legal and finance stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI to reduce manual work.
