Legal Innovation Partner
About The Position
Harvey’s Legal Innovation Partners provide strategic counsel to law firm and legal department leaders as they define and execute AI transformation within their organizations. They serve as a bridge between Harvey and the legal innovation community, representing Harvey and bringing the community’s needs and perspectives into Harvey’s strategy and product development. The role advises customers on AI transformation, helping them design and execute AI strategies tailored to their priorities and identify practical next steps. It also helps customers evaluate the value of AI initiatives, define measures of success, and use what they learn to guide adoption and investment decisions. The position supports new ways for firms and clients to collaborate on legal work, helps law firms adapt pricing, staffing, and client service, and helps legal departments improve legal service delivery as AI changes legal work. The Legal Innovation Partner advances Legal AI thought leadership by representing Harvey in industry forums, publishing analyses, and developing practical guides and frameworks. The role also builds relationships and facilitates knowledge exchange across the legal innovation community through workshops and educational sessions with law firms, corporate legal teams, and professional organizations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience across legal practice, legal innovation, or transformation at a top-tier law firm, corporate legal team, or legal tech organization.
- Strong point of view on AI transformation in legal organizations, grounded in practical experience using generative AI and the ability to translate its capabilities and limitations into strategic guidance.
- Credibility with senior legal, innovation, and business leaders, with the ability to build alignment and translate between technical and legal/business audiences.
- A track record of putting legal innovation strategy into practice, including aligning stakeholders, overcoming adoption barriers, and demonstrating improved outcomes.
- Experience translating legal innovation work into practical approaches that inform product direction or service design.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including executive advising, workshop facilitation, teaching, industry speaking, and clear written guidance.
