About The Position
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 320: Sociological Theory. This course explores the nature of theory in sociology and includes an analysis of selected social theorists.
Requirements
- A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the State of California.

- Higher education experience teaching Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence.
- Commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and service.
Responsibilities
- Teach SOC 320: Sociological Theory during the Fall 2026 semester.
- Conduct classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
- Provide instruction in-person.
