About The Position

The Psychology Program at Saint Xavier University, part of the College of Liberal Arts & Education, is seeking a full-time, annually renewable lecturer. This is a non-tenure track position, renewable based on performance, need, and financial ability. While expertise in any area of psychology is welcome, the program has a particular interest in candidates with backgrounds in developmental, sociocultural, clinical/counseling, cognitive, or biological psychology, or those whose expertise spans multiple subdisciplines. The Psychology major is a popular choice at the university, known for its strong undergraduate curriculum, opportunities for student-faculty research, and dedicated career mentoring. The department also supports students in other majors and minors and fulfills the general education social sciences requirement. The position is set to begin in the Fall of 2025.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in psychology or a closely related discipline preferred, Master’s in psychology acceptable
  • Evidence of or potential for excellent teaching, including use of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credit hours each semester in psychology courses related to one’s area of expertise
  • Mentor undergraduate students in student-faculty research
  • Provide service to the program, college, and university
