About The Position

The Industrial and Systems Engineering department in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida is seeking applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor). This role supports the department's B.S., M.E., M.S., and Ph.D. programs, which currently serve approximately 550 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. The department is active in research areas such as advanced manufacturing, energy systems, healthcare systems, human-in-the-loop systems, supply chain systems, and transportation systems, with methodological research in data analytics, human systems engineering, manufacturing, optimization, simulation, and stochastic analysis. The position will complement existing full-time instructional faculty and contribute to the growth of the college and department. The role involves teaching, curriculum development, collecting student performance data, and managing course content for accreditation. A significant aspect of the role includes engaging students in undergraduate research, college and university committees, and student organizations. The tentative faculty portfolio is 75% teaching and 25% department/professional service and research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate versatility in teaching across multiple areas, particularly Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Management, Production and Logistics, and Systems Engineering. For Associate and Full levels, demonstrated leadership in program/course development and student mentorship, including capstone design and undergraduate research, is expected. Candidates are encouraged to be at the forefront of teaching pedagogy and conduct research in Engineering Education to enhance their teaching, with the option to pursue additional research in Industrial and Systems Engineering topics.
