The Leasing Specialist is a key member of the team managing the Baton Rouge market-rate property and helps ensure tenants have a positive rental experience. Reporting to the Property Manager, this role assists with leasing-related tasks at apartment communities within the region to help maintain strong occupancy. This is a full-time, salaried role scheduled for 40 hours per week. The posting lists pay of $18–$20 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous experience in property leasing is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively negotiate lease terms.
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for interacting with tenants and prospects.
• Proficiency in data entry and record keeping to maintain accurate tenant information.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist prospective tenants in a professional and friendly manner.
• Conduct property tours and showcase available units to potential renters.
• Provide accurate information about rental properties, including pricing, amenities, and lease terms.
• Process rental applications and perform background checks on applicants.
• Prepare lease agreements and ensure all required documents are completed accurately.
• Collect rent payments and follow up on late or outstanding payments.
• Address tenant inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Maintain organized files and records of tenant information, leases, and maintenance requests.
• Use company software to track leads, prospects, and tenant interactions.
• Assist with property maintenance tasks as needed.
