About The Position

As a Leasing Consultant for our property management company, you will assist prospective tenants with finding and leasing a desirable apartment home. Your role will involve engaging with potential tenants, showcasing available units, and ensuring a smooth leasing process from start to finish. In addition, resident retention and satisfaction will be included in your leasing consultant role. Your direct supervisor will be the Regional Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leasing, sales, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of leasing practices and legal requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with leasing software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective tenants and provide them with tours of available units.
  • Highlight property features, amenities, and lease terms to prospective tenants.
  • Answer questions regarding the property and leasing process.
  • Answer phones, respond to all emails.
  • Assist prospective tenants in completing lease applications and collecting all required documents.
  • Review lease agreements with tenants and ensure all terms are understood.
  • Coordinate move-in dates and conduct unit inspections prior to occupancy.
  • Complete the move-in inspection form with the new tenants inside the apartment on the day of move-in.
  • Lease renewals will be the responsibility of all leasing consultants, who will begin lease renewal communications 120 days prior to the lease expiration date.
  • Address tenant concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain positive relationships with current and prospective tenants.
  • Resolve tenant complaints or issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies to attract new tenants.
  • Utilize various advertising methods to promote vacant units.
  • Participate in property tours and open houses as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospective and current tenants.
  • Prepare leasing reports and update databases with leasing activity.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure units are ready for showing.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or needed repairs.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of units and common areas using NSPIRE standards as well as company expectations.
