The Leasing Consultant serves as the first impression for prospective and current residents and helps ensure resident satisfaction while meeting the community’s leasing, retention, and occupancy goals. The role uses a consultative sales approach to explain the value and lifestyle benefits of the repositioned property, set clear expectations about renovation timelines and temporary amenity closures, and tactfully address concerns from existing residents about rent increases, parking, and construction. The consultant is expected to learn property management software, smart-home technology, and digital leasing tools quickly; demonstrate local neighborhood knowledge; and present a polished, professional demeanor aligned with Class A standards. Building relationships with inherited residents and proactively supporting retention are important aspects of the position. The Leasing Consultant manages prospects from initial contact through move-in, supports renewals and resident activities, maintains accurate leasing records and marketing materials, and helps keep models, available units, and work areas presentable. The role also includes outreach marketing, assistance with delinquent rent collection, and other tasks assigned by management. The position works in a typical office setting with daily exposure to outdoor conditions while touring the community, and requires flexibility to work weekends and accommodate varied schedules.
