About The Position

J.C. Hart Company is seeking an experienced and motivated Leasing Agent for Crossing 5, its newest lease-up community in Plainfield. The Leasing Agent manages prospective-resident leads and supports the leasing process across a territory of communities. The role provides personalized service through in-person, virtual, and self-guided tours; guides prospects through apartment selection and applications; handles leasing administration and screening; and coordinates with site teams to support a positive leasing and move-in experience. The position also includes community inspections, outreach, and local networking.

Responsibilities

Manage leads and prospects for a territory of communities and help customers find an apartment that fits their needs.
Establish an up-front contract with prospects, build rapport, and provide personalized leasing and touring service while following Fair Housing guidelines.
Develop knowledge of floor plans, features, amenities, J.C. Hart communities, and competitors.
Complete in-person, virtual, and/or self-guided tours from start to finish.
Understand lease terms, pricing, specials, availability, and provide accurate, timely quotes and application links.
Nurture leads through software systems or preferred communication channels, answer questions about applying, moving in, and residency, and consistently follow up to determine whether prospects will apply.
Participate in weekly sales meetings to review leasing activity, discuss availability, and develop strategies to fill vacancies.
Collect application fees, proof of income, and security deposits.
Initiate applicant screening in property management software and make the final screening decision.
Confirm lease details, rentable items, pet fees, and other fees or requirements in preparation for lease agreements.
Create Welcome Home Letters for future residents and introduce them to the onsite team.
Coordinate with site teams, fellow Leasing Agents, and other J.C. Hart team members on leasing opportunities, referrals, and support for the leasing and move-in experience.
Walk and inspect the community, including interior and exterior common areas, and report items needing attention to the onsite team.
Coordinate with Resident Experience Teams on show units, models, self-guided tour units, and other tour-related setup.
Assist with community outreach and local networking to promote J.C. Hart communities.
