About The Position

The Learning Experience Designer is the primary design expert for the Leadership Capability & Learning Center of Excellence (COE), translating strategic capability priorities into engaging, effective development experiences such as e-learning and instructor-led training. The role designs modern, immersive solutions grounded in adult learning and learning science, and brings creative autonomy, craft, and a strong point of view on tools, technologies, and emerging practices. Working closely with the Sr. Manager, Leadership Capability, who sets strategic design direction, the designer turns identified capability gaps and behavior-change goals into concrete learning experiences. The role also owns the COE’s visual design standards, templates, and the consistent look and feel of its deliverables, while raising the quality of the function’s communications and learning assets. The position owns internal instructional design and learning production tools, monitors and experiments with emerging technologies, and integrates AI where it can meaningfully improve personalization, scalability, and effectiveness. It partners with Learning Operations on technology decisions involving leader-facing platforms. The role is an individual contributor and includes following established Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities, as well as other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, experience design, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience supported by a portfolio.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and building learning or development experiences end to end.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent.
  • Strong visual design and visual communication skills, demonstrated through high-quality work across multiple formats and modalities.
  • Portfolio submission is required with the application.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory and learning science, including the ability to explain design choices and how they relate to adult learning.
  • Experience designing learning beyond the classroom, such as simulations, scenario-based learning, experiential modules, or immersive digital learning assets.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint or equivalent presentation design at a high visual standard.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodation available for individuals with disabilities.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

  • Experience in a Center of Excellence, consulting environment, or complex matrixed organization where strategic direction may be ambiguous and solutions must be developed without a complete brief.
  • Experience in a fast-moving, operationally complex industry such as hospitality, entertainment, or retail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build simulations, scenario-based experiences, experiential labs, and immersive learning environments that place leaders in realistic situations and require decision-making.
  • Develop engaging, high-quality e-learning and digital learning assets that support development both during formal learning and in the flow of work.
  • Translate capability priorities and design direction into concrete learning experiences and creative build solutions.
  • Prototype rapidly, pilot with learners, gather feedback, and iterate to optimize behavior change.
  • Build reusable design assets, templates, and components to accelerate future work and support consistency across the COE portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain visual design standards for COE deliverables, including program materials, participant guides, presentations, and digital assets.
  • Create practical, flexible, easy-to-use templates that help others maintain design standards.
  • Apply visual storytelling to leadership experiences and make the narrative arc of programs, modules, and assets intentional.
  • Translate leadership concepts, capability frameworks, and development models into clear visuals for varied audiences.
  • Improve how the COE communicates its strategy, impact, and value through presentations, one-pagers, infographics, and other visual formats.
  • Own internal instructional design and learning production tools, including selecting and managing tools and maintaining proficiency in them.
  • Monitor and experiment with emerging learning technologies, including AI-powered development tools, immersive and simulation platforms, and adaptive learning technologies.
  • Recommend changes to the COE’s practices based on developments in the field and challenge existing approaches.
  • Partner with Learning Operations on technology decisions affecting leader-facing platforms, aligning on sustainability, budget, and operational support.
  • Integrate AI into design and delivery where it can meaningfully enable more personalized, scalable, and effective development.
  • Follow established UDX Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
