Lead WMS Consultant

Fulfillment IQ•Atlanta, GA
•$115,000 - $130,000

About The Position

Fulfillment IQ is hiring a Lead WMS Consultant to support a client engagement with a leading material handling equipment provider. The role focuses primarily on integrating warehouse control systems with warehouse management platforms and third-party robotics systems, including goods-to-person, put walls, conveyor and sortation, and ASRS. It also includes configuring core WMS modules as needed. This is a hybrid functional and technical role that bridges operations, IT, and robotics vendors. The consultant will work with mid-sized clients, primarily across the East Coast, collaborating with local, onshore development teams and international robotics vendor teams. The role includes requirements and solution design, SQL-based troubleshooting, integration support, client-facing delivery, and documentation. The consultant is expected to support projects through SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live, including onsite troubleshooting and critical-incident calls. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, with onsite, hybrid, or— for exceptional candidates—fully remote work within the United States. Travel is expected to be 50–75% depending on customer requirements, with occasional weekend work during go-live windows. The role reports to the Co-Founder & COO and is a full-time, permanent position.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in WMS implementations or supply chain execution systems.
  • Experience across multiple end-to-end implementations and go-lives, rather than exclusively support-ticket work.
  • Strong techno-functional background, able to bridge business and operations with IT.
  • Hands-on experience integrating WMS with MHE or automation systems, robotics platforms, conveyor or sortation systems, or ASRS.
  • Working proficiency in SQL, including writing and troubleshooting stored procedures, joins, and updates on Oracle, MSSQL, or a comparable platform.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse workflows, including receiving, put-away, wave and allocation logic, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Hands-on experience with put-to-light and pick-to-light systems and general familiarity with warehouse floor hardware such as RF guns, printers, and label formats.
  • Ability to methodically troubleshoot MHE messaging issues and trace problems to their source.
  • Client-facing experience running go-lives, leading issue or bridge calls, and communicating with stakeholders under pressure.
  • Comfort with 50–75% travel, including occasional weekend work during go-live windows.
  • Ability to work effectively with local onshore teams and international offshore robotics vendor teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with Hy-Tek Intralogistics or its IntraOne WMS.
  • Direct experience with Geek+, Locus Robotics, or Exotec.
  • Experience acting as a design lead on multi-building or multi-site WMS rollouts.
  • Experience mentoring junior consultants or analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support WMS-to-robotics integration projects involving goods-to-person, conveyor and sortation, ASRS, and put-to-light or pick-to-light systems.
  • Analyze business, functional, and integration requirements and design scalable WMS/WCS solutions.
  • Configure core WMS modules, including Inbound, Outbound, Inventory, Returns, Picking, and Shipping, as needed for automation integrations.
  • Troubleshoot MHE messaging end-to-end by tracing failed or unprocessed messages to their source processes, assessing impact, and resolving root causes.
  • Support technical decisions about endpoints, ports, and message formats for integration setup and troubleshooting.
  • Write, review, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, including support for inventory adjustments, order-header updates, and wave or allocation logic.
  • Partner with clients and stakeholders during SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live, including onsite troubleshooting with client product managers.
  • Lead or participate in critical-incident issue and bridge calls, presenting root-cause analyses to client stakeholders.
  • Communicate scope and schedule risks to clients and help identify minimum viable scope when late requirements threaten established go-live dates.
  • Collaborate with local onshore developers and international robotics vendor teams.
  • Maintain design documents, technical specifications, test plans, runbooks, and configuration records.
  • Mentor or guide less experienced consultants, analysts, or support staff as needed.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health and dental coverage for the employee and family.
  • Competitive paid time off and flexible leave policies.
