About The Position

RDO Equipment Co. is seeking a Lead Technician to serve as an in-shop technical resource for the service team. The role combines advanced hands-on diagnostics and repair work with technical leadership, escalation support, and informal mentorship of other technicians. The Lead Technician helps maintain repair quality, consistent procedures, documentation, and safety standards while remaining actively engaged in billable work. The position is based with the growing team serving Buda and the Austin area.

Requirements

• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Ability to guide and support other technicians without direct supervisory responsibility.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to repair quality, safety, and documentation standards.
• Comfort using diagnostic software and service systems.
• Valid work authorization and ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary in-shop technical expert and escalation point for complex diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting.
• Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel diagnostics and repairs while remaining actively engaged in billable work.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and informal mentorship to help develop technicians’ skills and promote repair consistency.
• Reinforce proper diagnostics, repair procedures, documentation, and safety standards to help prevent rework and comebacks.
