Lead TPM, S&OP: Capacity & Ops Strategy

ZT Systems•Secaucus, NJ
•$116,250 - $155,000

About The Position

The Lead Technical Program Manager, S&OP: Capacity & Ops Strategy serves as the technical navigator and quantitative engine within the Global Operations Readiness team, reporting to the Manager of Global Operations Readiness within the Manufacturing Business Office. The role designs, deploys, and orchestrates a multi-horizon Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) framework that converts commercial demand signals into operational options. The position leads the S&OP sub-function in synthesizing demand streams from Customer Operations, ZT Sales, and Sanmina partner pipelines into dynamic capacity models. These models assess global footprint, floor space, test load, power, and tooling constraints. The role also identifies opportunities to invest in manufacturing methods, machines, and equipment to keep factory capabilities aligned with advances in high-density AI compute and liquid cooling infrastructure. As a technical leader and subject matter expert, the Lead TPM brings manufacturing expertise, advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, and cross-functional leadership. The role provides analytical rigor and delivery discipline, directs complex analytical projects, and coaches junior engineers and technical program managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in engineering, S&OP, capacity planning, or technical program management, or at least 6 years with a master’s degree.
  • Experience in high-reliability, high-tech hardware, server assembly, electronics manufacturing services (EMS), or hyperscale cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Advanced skills in multivariable capacity modeling, scenario planning, and data analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or advanced Excel.
  • Ability to translate complex operational topics and data-driven models into clear P&L insights, CapEx ROI proposals, and executive-level overviews.
  • Proven ability to influence and align distributed cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, Engineering, Plant Operations, and contract manufacturing partners, without formal line authority.
  • Deep understanding of factory dynamics, line throughput, test-load bottlenecking, power distribution, and liquid-cooling infrastructure.
  • Ability to lead end-to-end projects independently, with urgency in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or MBA.

Responsibilities

  • Ingest projects and requests end to end, define business needs, develop strategies, and present S&OP insights to executive leadership and plant operations.
  • Reconcile unconstrained and constrained forecasts from Customer Operations, ZT Sales, and Sanmina into a unified demand baseline.
  • Build and maintain dynamic 3-to-24-month capacity and scenario models, assessing line rates, floor-space utilization, test-position availability, and high-density power and cooling infrastructure limits.
  • Conduct what-if trade-off and ROI analyses, translating operational variables such as racks per day, shift structures, and line bottlenecks into financial P&L impacts, including CapEx requirements, overtime costs, and gross-margin risk.
  • Lead the monthly S&OP capacity review and drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across Sales, Customer Operations, Engineering, NPI, Finance, and Sanmina teams.
  • Identify strategic capability and technology-shift opportunities, evaluate emerging hardware requirements, and translate them into future manufacturing methods and machine requirements.
  • Develop data-driven CapEx business cases for facility expansion, automation, line retrofits, and specialized tooling to prevent capacity bottlenecks before production ramps.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness and scope of S&OP models, capacity tools, and data structures used for short- and long-term business planning.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, set direction for complex analytical projects, and foster continuous learning and growth.
  • Operate with urgency to ensure customer needs are met in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.
