About The Position

People’s Food Co-op is seeking a full-time employee for its Deli Counter. The role efficiently and accurately performs deli service-counter functions, assists customers, and helps ensure every customer feels engaged and delighted. The position is a full-time opening shift, 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., five days per week, with availability Sunday through Saturday. Pay is $17.00 per hour. Employees provide authentic service in a fast-paced retail environment where days may vary and teamwork is important. Work includes preparing sandwiches, specialty coffee and tea beverages, and other customer items; keeping the soup and salad bar stocked and clean; preparing products for the next day; and cleaning dishes, sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.

Requirements

Be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Safely lift 45 pounds.
Handle knives and other cutting equipment.
Work in a wet and cold environment.
Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
