About The Position

The Lansing School District is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Summer School 2026 BEST Camp at Lansing Tech. This role is for a 6-week program, starting the week of June 16th and running through the week of July 30th, with the Lead Teacher beginning one week prior for planning. The program will be held onsite at Hill Center / Lansing Tech High School. The curriculum for K-8 grades will focus on English Language acquisition & Literacy, while grades 9-12 will work on credit recovery. The Lead Teacher will support Multilingual Learner students as the point person for the school, managing the program across the school. Short daytime field trips are included. The Lead Teacher will work an additional day a week, making the schedule 4 days (Monday-Thursday).

Requirements

Experience as a teacher.
Ability to support Multilingual Learner students.
Willingness to manage a program across a school.
Ability to plan and prepare for a summer program.
Experience with English Language acquisition & Literacy curriculum.
Experience with credit recovery curriculum.
Ability to manage and oversee field trips.
Availability for a 6-week program starting the week of June 16th.
Availability to start one week prior for planning.
Ability to work a 4-day week (Monday-Thursday).

Responsibilities
