About The Position

The Lead Scheduler supports WNY Plastic Surgery Group at Unity Hospital, coordinating operating room scheduling for three plastic surgeons. This full-time, office-based role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends. The position leads and supports staff performing the same work, handles complex scheduling tasks, and coordinates the daily surgical schedule with the Chief of Anesthesiology to maintain accuracy and make changes as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in an operating room administrative environment is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, social sciences, human resources, or an equivalent area is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Six years of relevant healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of staff performing the same work.
• Assign daily tasks to team members and provide oversight and support as needed.
• Perform the most complex tasks or procedures.
• Mentor and train new employees to help them meet department standards.
• Provide input on team members’ performance and recommend disciplinary action when required.
• Serve as a resource to staff and collaborating departments by helping resolve complex issues and providing technical skills.
• Coordinate the daily surgical schedule with the Chief of Anesthesiology, ensuring accuracy and making changes as needed.
