About The Position

The Lead Associate’s primary function is to sell and promote Original Penguin merchandise by executing the brand’s customer service standards. The Lead Associate reinforces the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Supervisors in helping the store meet its goals and standards for financial performance, customer satisfaction, and visual presentation. When a supervisor or keyholder is not present, the Lead Associate steps in to support store operations.

Requirements

• Energetic and positive attitude.
• 1–2 years of retail experience.
• Flexible availability and reliable transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Outgoing, friendly, personable, and customer-service-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to move and/or lift up to 25 pounds.
• High school degree.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provide customer service to company standards and lead the team in delivering that service.
• Generate sales in accordance with Original Penguin customer service standards.
• Build a repeat customer base through effective PE Loyalty Program data capture.
• Maintain strong knowledge of products, promotions, and special events to communicate effectively with customers.
• Foster a positive store experience by treating customers and staff fairly and consistently.
• Maintain effective floor coverage, acknowledge every customer, and prioritize customers over assigned tasks.
• Manage time and prioritize tasks.
• Step in when a supervisor or keyholder is not present.
• Keep merchandise stocked to appropriate levels on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store’s visual presentation and appearance.
• Minimize shortages by following loss-prevention procedures and practicing customer service to help prevent theft.
• Stay aware of store sales plans and results.
• Follow operational policies and procedures.
• Support execution of pricing strategies and store planograms.
• Support and understand the company’s brand position.
• Replenish merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication.
