Requirements

1-year certificate from a college or technical school OR 2 years of related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of direct experience preferred)
Strong analytical and communication skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to read, interpret, and compose clear correspondence
Effective presentation skills in 1-on-1 and small group settings
Sound judgment in a variety of situations
Solid mathematical aptitude, including working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas)
Familiarity with billing or financial systems and standard office equipment
Commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and building positive relationships with customers and colleagues
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end billing process for multiple lines of business, ensuring that every payment is posted accurately, invoices are generated on time, and statements are balanced with precision and compliance.
Reconcile accounts receivable, resolve complex discrepancies, and manage ACH applications, payment authorizations, refunds, and premium reallocations.
Review aging reports, coordinate collections and write-offs, and respond to inquiries from members, groups, and internal teams.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations as you maintain demographics, coverage levels, and premium rates tables.
Mentor Billing Analysts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and serve as the department's subject matter expert.
Help drive process improvements and support system migrations.
Act as a backup for key specialists as needed.
