About The Position

This position is only available to current employees of the Irvine Unified School District who have passed their 6-month probationary period. The Lead Nutrition Services II will work under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor - Nutrition Services. Responsibilities include leading and participating in food preparation and serving, performing specialized food production tasks, overseeing kitchen operations in the supervisor's absence, and training and directing assigned personnel. The Irvine Unified School District serves over 36,000 PK-12 students across various schools and is recognized for its comprehensive academic, arts, and athletics programs.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and four years of increasingly responsible food service experience.
• Must hold and maintain a current ServSafe certificate or equivalent (California Retail Food Code).
• Must adhere to annual minimum required training hours for School Nutrition Staff per the USDA Guide to Professional Standards for School Nutrition Programs.
• Applicants must have passed their 6-month probationary period in their current position.
• Must be a current employee of the school district.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in the preparation and serving of food.
• Performs the more specialized tasks in food production.
• Oversees the operation of the kitchen in the Supervisor's absence.
• Trains and provides work direction to assigned personnel.
• Performs related work as required.
