Lead Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is a community-focused math learning center serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lead Math Instructor helps create a welcoming, positive, and productive learning environment for students and families. The instructor provides individualized math instruction in a group setting, using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices. Training is provided in effective math instruction and teaching methodologies. The role includes assessing and tracking students’ learning progress and engagement, communicating with the Center Manager and staff, becoming proficient with digital educational materials and processes, maintaining a safe and professional learning environment, and assisting with administrative and operational tasks as needed. The position is in person and part time, with three shifts per week. Available shifts are Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.; Friday, 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Monday and Thursday availability at 3:00 p.m. is preferred. Compensation is $17.00–$20.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.
- Availability at least three days a week during the listed operating shifts.
- Provide work authorization and pass a background check.
- Pass a math literacy test demonstrating math proficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Availability at 3:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays is preferred.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.

- Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff about students’ progress.
