About The Position

Mathnasium of Mathnasium is seeking a Lead Math Instructor / Tutor to help K–12 students understand, master, and enjoy math. The role combines leadership, coaching, and individualized instruction delivered in a group setting, either in-center or online using the Mathnasium Method™. Instructors assess student progress and engagement, communicate with parents and guardians, and learn to use the center’s digital educational materials and processes. The position offers consistent part-time hours after school and on weekends, a supportive work culture, training in teaching methodologies, and opportunities for advancement. Applicants must be available at least four days per week during the center’s stated hours. As part of the hiring process, applicants take a math literacy test.

Requirements

Passion for math and working with students.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Eagerness to learn and be trained.
Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra 2.
Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.
Availability at least four days per week during center hours: Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–7:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Ability to take a math literacy test during the hiring process to demonstrate math proficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and collaborate with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting.
Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions.
Communicate student progress with parents and guardians.
Teach in-center and/or online using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
