Lead Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lead Math Instructor creates a welcoming environment for students and families and provides engaging, individualized math instruction using the Mathnasium Method™. Instructors receive training in effective teaching methods and use the center’s curriculum and instructional tools. The role also involves assessing student progress, communicating with the Center Manager and staff, supporting center operations, and helping maintain a safe, professional learning environment. The position is in person and part time, with three shifts per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.
- Availability at least three days per week during the listed scheduling windows: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., and Sunday, 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Tuesday availability at 3:30 p.m. is preferred.
- Must take a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Responsibilities
- Teach and tutor in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Collaborate with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff about student progress.
