Lead Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is seeking a passionate, friendly, and enthusiastic Lead Math Instructor to help students build confidence and learn math. The instructor creates a welcoming environment for students and families and provides effective, concise instruction after completing training. The role motivates students and helps maintain an engaging, positive, and productive learning environment while communicating with the Center Manager and staff about student progress. Instructors may teach in-center, online, or through hybrid delivery, and may also perform operational and administrative tasks as needed. The position offers part-time hours, training in teaching methodologies, and opportunities for advancement and leadership development across multiple centers.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Math proficiency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities.
- Availability at least three days per week during the listed schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3 p.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Must take a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Teach and tutor using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff to help evaluate and track student progress.
